I see this every day. My gym has a small lot by the door. If you get there before 6:30am or so, there are spots open. Otherwise you have to walk a quarter mile from the other lot. Oh wait, I mean cruise the close lot for 20 minutes waiting for someone else to leave.
I'm about a mile out from a really nice nature preserve with great jogging trails. People drive there. And just to begin with there's only about two blocks of sidewalk on the way before you get a huge ass paved jogging path which leads to a choice of paved or unpaved trails within it. AND on top of that there's a bike path leading right to it along with tons of secure and publically visible bike racks. There might as well be a giant flashing sign telling them how lazy they are and they still don't get it.

This says a lot about their attitudes to getting in shape. We all know they are generally lazy and will drive to their own letterbox, but in this case, they claim to be trying to exercise. If their definition of improving their lifestyle through exercise includes driving a stone throw's distance to the gym to avoid exercise, then you begin to see what an obvious lie the claim is. It is all just words they say to try and get people to stop making fun of them. If they had any intention at all to actually stop being fat, they would not be fat.

Fat people think walking is an exercise, so naturally they drive to the gym to relax so they can lie to people and tell them how they work out reguarly

Walking that far would count as a cardio day. And, also who would drive them back home.

Call them out. I do it when people wait for parking spaces to open up when there's one open two spaces down.

I am moving to a new neighborhood that has a gym as part of the HOA. I would say that the total distance from my new house and the gym facility is probably a mile, maybe a little bit less. My big decision that I can't seem to make is whether I should just run the mile, which would take me about 7 or 8 minutes because I am old and slow, or should I ride my bike which should take me 3 or 4 minutes. It sounds like an easy choice to make but in order to ride my bike I would have to open the garage, grab my helmet, saddle up, take a garage door opener with me, shut the garage door, then pedal. With running I can just walk out the door and run over there.
I can guarantee that I will time myself to see which one is faster and try to use that as deciding factor but then I will convince myself that running is healthier because my heart rate will be elevated for longer.
I am only going to the gym because they have weights there and I am too cheap to buy weights, and I don't want to store them either.
Edit: driving is out of the question because I drive vehicles with cloth interior and I don't want them getting all sweaty and gross.

Your mile time is still faster than 90% of Americans'.

That doesn't make me feel any better. Average comparisons add in shit. I compare myself to the elite. I understand that this makes me look slow and weak, but I am way closer to number 1 than "average."
