The PURE study receives so much media because it suggests something that is 1) unheard of and 2) most people want to hear. I've seen headline like "Living Longer Thanks To Butter?" and "Everything You Know About Healthy Eating Might Be A Lie!!!1!!"

In reality, they didn't specifiy which carbs the subjects were eating and anyone would acknowledge that a simple carb like sugar is vastly different from the complex carbs that make up vegetables.

There is one takeaway from the study that is relatively certain and can't really be argued: Fat is healthier than sugar. Big whoop. It is not what many news outlets make it sound like in their headlines: Butter is healthier than vegetables.

I mostly posted it because I'm on the anti sugar train. Not enough people realize that sugar is worth than fat.

Yeah, I think most health advice, whatever it may be and wherever it may come from only even begins to work when you beat sugar addiction (which like 90% of people have) first.
