Nope. Tried it a few times to see if the plane would crash and nothing happened.

I only tried this eventually because I saw several people other times not doing it and nothing happened. I feel liek the reason the rule got made up in the first place was because someone in charge had a poor understanding of technology and/or they simply wanted to eliminate the potential of radio waves being transmitted so if someone snuck onboard somehting that jammed signals and shit it would be obvious they intended to do it once they got caught.

oh, well ok. I've never bought any of that stuff. I thought about it a few times, but the prices were so high i didn't even bother to look twice.

Speaking of that. I went to a big ass event recently and the amenities were very reasonably prices. Almost to the point of not being a jacked up cost whatsoever in comparison to the normal versions of those items.... I actually bought some things - which I never do.. I have to get ahead of this curve before someone bleeds me dry

It saves on battery if you do. Otherwise it's constantly looking for signal. Particularly when you're over an ocean.
