Google used to be THE search engine to use for techs. Put in an error code / message, and you'd get the exact "Here's how I fixed it!" forum posts and responses.

The way that Google has tried to combat spam has mostly just lead to spammers getting smarter, so every search result is an ad disguised as a "top 5 best vacuum cleaners" or whatever. Sigh.
