I wonder how many of them never thought about the idea that Google, or more correctly Alphabet, could be broken up under anti-monopoly laws until just recently. And I wonder how many of them are now wondering if they could cut a slice off for themselves.
Could be that prior to muh current year, Google's allies were kinda too dumb to really understand Google as an entity, and didn't realize it could be sliced up like any traditional "broadcaster" for their own personal gain. Essentially Google is the lamb who cozied up to a pride of lions, seeking protection and empowerment, unknowingly banking on the lions never finding out how tasty the lamb is.
