Pulling up at a nighttime traffic stop, lurking in the shadows and pulling out a bulky steel pole is a great way to get shot.

He said he pulled into a parking lot in full view of the deputy, got out of his Jeep and started setting up his tripod and camera. "I turned around toward the cars and then 'pop, pop."

Doesn't sound like he was lurking in the shadows but all any of us can do is speculate at this point.

...

"I was just doing my job," he said. "I know Jake. I like Jake. I don't want him to lose his job over this."

He was also on a first name basis with the officer that shot him with, allegedly, no warnings or commands given before shot were fired.

He also stressed that he does not want the deputy to lose his job over this.

This guy is too nice. He may be an illegal from Canada.

Did he apologize after the cop shot him?
