I remember being 8 years old and my babysitter sending me into the store alone, while she waited in the car eith my baby sisters, to buy her a package of cigarettes. I picked them out and walked up to the counter to pay and the cashier said, "Can't sell these to you hun, a new law won't let me". I went back and told my babysitter. She was annoyed, but had me wait in the car while she went in and bought them. When I told my mom that night what I did that day she flipped her shit. We never went back to that sitter. That was in '88 BTW.

The mitigation of mental states has largely been hijacked by industry and government. Adulthood is at the very least partly defined as the pursuit of enhancing your mental states... Now adults just beat themselves up unto death. FUCKING PATHETIC

My doctor used to have an ashtray full of butts in his office when you went for a check-up.

I remember one of my doctors having a cig hanging out of his mouth DURING my exam.

I remember that also, but he told ME to quite smoking as it was bad for my health.

Man fuck the propoganda campaign thats been waged against smoking the past couple decades. They banned smoking in my county jail months before i was in for a stay. Could still smell it and see the tar on the upper walls. Plus my fuckin state just passed a dollar additional tax per pack. Fuckers just cant let a working man have a simple pleasure without sticking their chode in it. I hate everything the US has done about smoking

It's still cool

Damn straight! All of my coolest life moments were enhanced with a cigarette. I've been quit for years now but I never feel as calm, cool and collected today as I did when I could whip out a smoke and light up. Drinking also seems so half-assed without a smoke. Non-smokers don't get it.

My favorite part is that it's a perfect reason to leave a gathering to get some air (ironically) and clear your head. It also just smells good.
