Voat has a tendency to exaggerate how bad things are.

Strange, I think the opposite. I think a lot of people are wholly unaware of whats going on around them, even here to a large degree.

It's called manners, most people who can afford a plain ticket can afford to behave themselves while on vacation. You haven't been around us long enough to meet the crazies (and usually they don't flip out in other countries).

I can only speak for Southeast Texas. A couple of British guys came down to the place I worked to do a field acceptance test. First thing they noticed (besides "Why is it so hot?") is that people here are very friendly. Also, there are many many more places to eat.

Things they missed most: Fancy cheese for breakfast.

The 99/1% rule: 1% are making 99% of the noise and giving the 99% a bad rap.

Unfortunately, the Clinton camp isn't helping so the percentages are moving rapidly towards 60/40.

Consider what type of media you consume. Then consider that said media only shows you the freaks because "normal" people would not be interesting enough to write over, and because writing anything other than outrage clickbait wouldn't give them those sweet, sweet sitehits.

Wise men speak when they have something to say, but fools speak when they have to say something. Too many fools man.

"ducks" might not be the best metaphor in that context. ducks are violent rapists.
