This kind of quantum approach to transistor, semiconductor and crystalline material modeling is extremely powerful. People often poo-poo the incredibly small results of these studies but if it could help us develop more stable semiconductors or understand more of what's going on in ceramic materials then it could be a potential game-changer for computers or many kinds of materials.
