I've never seen an alcoholic rob someone for booze money.

Alcoholics usually hold jobs and can support their habit, Junkies usually do what ever it takes to get what they need and look like some shit IRL so usually don't end up holding jobs and rob people to get income.

Remember this:

Alcoholic: 1-2 case/bottle a day $40 max

Junkie: assume opiates: $30 per point heroin/ 30-80 per pain pill depending. $100+ habit a day easy.

Alcoholics die slower than junkies. This is the only difference.

Going cold turkey the withdrawals can kill a full blown alcoholic. They need medical help when they stop drinking. No deaths have ever been recorded of a healthy adult during opiate withdrawals. The only deaths during opiate withdrawals have been people with underlying health problems such as heart problems, etc. Opiate addicts build up a tolerance for the opiods. People often OD when they have been off opiods for a while and then start back doing them. They tend to jump back in doing same size doses as those they were using when they stopped. They no longer have the same level of tolerance and they OD.
