Haven't been doing as much as I woukd like.
I have done a few exercises on the playground once last week, a walk around the block while my kids and cousins ran and rode bikes, and some swimming.

Challenge your kids to a game of tag (if they're old enough). They'll like it, and it's a great way to sneak in some cardio :)

They are 5&3. The oldest gets tag for the most part, bot so much the 3yr old.
They like to play monster though which is very similar but less rules and add in some monster noises lol. - I should be doing more moving around with them.

Some activity is better than sedentary and more importantly you are preventing the development of sedentary lifestyle habits in your mini-mes.

They'll grow up with the idea that parents and children should do activities together. I think it's a good tradition that more families need.

Being running mam, nearly everyday since we last spoke. I have been having issues with our local pool, but did manage to go swimming several times, during that time. Only about 10 good laps as people keep getting in the way. No one else doing laps, just wallowing in the water like angry hippos.

My horse stance is atrocious. 1 minute tops, maybe once. I am such a weenie but I will keep going.

Thanks for the reminder and the encouragement. :)

Swimming is so great for building a lean graceful physique.

Tip for horse stances: If you don't have the stamina to do it for a long time, go short duration with deep stance.

10 seconds in the deepest stance you can muster, then release. Do like 3. You can combine with a kegel hold or glut or thigh tensing. Happy exercising.

Being in decent physical condition and not letting oneself go is part of a wife's job. We owe it to ourselves and our families to be the best versions of ourselves we can be. You don't have to look like a Victoria's Secret model, but:

  1. We are charged with teaching the next generation how to take care of themselves and we ought to set a good example;
  2. Being healthy helps ensure we have enough energy for the care and keeping of husbands, homes, and children; which is pretty demanding if you don't sit around all day!
  3. Your husband deserves a beautiful wife who doesn't let herself go. Make sure your daughters learn this too.
  4. Health is something that should never be taken for granted.

Thanks for posting the reminder, Le_Squish!

Wonderful points.

We also protect our fertility when we strive to be healthy.
