If it is blight, I would watch this before you throw the plant away. I may be going through the same thing, actually your post sent me into a panic and I have spent my time since then on what amounts to webmd for plants because I am having very similar issues with my cherry tomato. My husband is trying to help diagnose but he found this vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqGODg8jhsI This guy is saying you don't necessarily have to burn your crops and salt the earth, that it can be treated.

Looks like late blight to me as well. If you're not against using chemical fungicide you can use something like Mancozeb Flowable if you have any other plants to save them, but if its in a pot i would almost discard the dirt and start over, the spores can live for years in the soil. Im battling early blight myself with about 10 potato plants, super frustrating to get a good start and see your work die uncontrollably. =(

looks like late blight, actually. the yellow spots n all that is early blight. late blight = much worse than light blight. tear that plant up and throw it out in the trash. buy a bale of wheat straw mulch if you have other good plants to prevent soil borne diseases..

Darn it! Tried to answer you before but the site must have gone done before it saved.

I am hoping I'm wrong, but your pic looks a lot like my plants last year that got infected with early blight. I was so sad...it was my first real attempt at a crop of tomatoes and I ended up throwing them all out...fruits, plants, everything. The leaves and stems went first, then the fruits got all weird. If that's what it is, you shouldn't compost the plants....send them to the landfill. Also, apparently you shouldn't grow tomatoes in that spot again for a few years.

I hope you don't find a similarity checking other pics online....it's just plain frustrating to go through this.
