There is good reason to believe the German's take great pride in the construction of submarines, this deal is probobly just a sale of goods.
I am guessing these submarines will be low Maintanance and built to cruise for long periods at about 60 meters submerged.
Im also guessing the US aircraft carrier landed some top brass on Israeli soil, it would be logical to assume this purchase was a snap decision with the ultimate goal to counter the modern post Soviet Russian submarines that could in theory deliver a strike leaving the target with less then 2 minutes to react.
