There are registered child sex offenders on parole in cities throughout Texas. I know many. They gave my (old) friend deferred adjudication first time around but now he's serving 30 years. And he's older than fifty and was married.
If it's a family thing they're less harsh on them and even then it depends mostly on a grand jury's and DA's resolve which varies tremendously. It helps if you call and constantly pressure and bug them. Bug the DA.
Depends on what mood they're in. Once I was slippin up rabble-rousing publicly, a deputy sheriff happened by and said no worries, nobody's going to jail today, it's Friday. They are subject to same infirmities as the rest of us.
