Smart switches do seem to work best at the moment, but then you lose the color control that "smart" lights offer. I think we need a new generation of bulbs and switches, where the switches provide power, dimming, and color, and the bulbs just receive commands from the switch.

I would suggest getting zwave light switches since it is still accessible when the brightness is 0% or even set to off.

You could get a combination of light switches with Philips LED RGB lights OR get a Fibaro LED light switch.
