The article does not say he was a paramedic. The article does say the woman had not been eating fried chicken and that the house didn't even smell like it. I would not be happy if my doctor talked to my daughter about my medical condition. I think most people would agree that the advice "stop eating so much fried chicken" for a nosebleed, with no in depth medical examination, is misplaced at best. First responders only do a cursory exam and there's no way he's trained or had the knowledge to make that kind of diagnosis.
