Blocking traffic is illegal as fuck. Someone could need to go down that road the get their kid to the hospital or something. If you're blocking traffic, you have taken your risk in your own hands. You knew what the potential consequences could be when you started. Also, if they're on the interstate, then it's 100% the blocker's fault since pedestrians are completely prohibited from the interstate.

Doing both is generally a crime (at least in the U.S.), but I do remember when this was the fad pre- and post-election there was a state that gave a little leeway on "gently pushing" protesters out of the way with your vehicle.
