This is just a guess, but I think the comparison is probably a bit inapt. The DNC is an utter shambles. They still haven't recovered from Hillary losing, their leaders caught cheating to make Bernie lose, etc. So on the liberal, progressive side more money is being raised and spent by other organizations. I suspect on the Republican side, the RNC represents more of the total raised and spent.
