Man. I agree so, so much with the Fight Club sentiment.

I could give you a very long list. What do you like, are in the mood for?

Whiplash, the Nightcrawler, Coen bros library, Alien, the Unforgiven, High Noon, 12 Angry Men (original), John Carpenters the Thing, the Marathon Man, the Aquatic Life w Steve Zissou, John Wick, Edge of Tomorrow, Boys from Brazil, the City of Lost Children...

Help me narrow down what youre looking for.

That's the thing, I don't really have a favorite genre. I am kind of in the mood for something dark, but my Wife won't watch any kind of horror movies. She had trouble watching Aliens.

Nightcrawler is a great recent thiller w Jake Gyllenhaal, Rene Russo, Bill Paxton. Kinda hard to explain w/o giving too much up. Dark psychological crime thriller. Excellent.

You might actually try The Thing. Its horror, but its not super high tension like Alien. Classic movie.

Identity was fun. Semi dark psychological crime thiller. John Cusack, Ray Liotta, Amanda Peet. Not a Great movie, but pretty fun.

Ill try to think of some more, but that one sprang to mind.

El Topo

It's an older advant-garde style western made by a Chilean occultist. It's an allegorical western that represents a spiritual quest. The main character searches the desert for masters to duel with, each master representing different spiritual ideas.

To the average person, it's going to be one fucking wierd movie. Hands down my favorite movie ever. A close second being another film by the same director, called The Holy Mountain.

I have two Hong Kong films that are my favorite that I can suggest. Infernal Affairs, it is basically the same as The Departed. Chungking Express is a great movie from Hong Kong also
