You mean actually real, and potentially something some people should be concerned about, but has been blown way out of proportion by the media to the point where people think the world is ending?
Damn that's a good analogy.

Thank you :)
I think this is probably closest to what I had in mind. There was a pic posted recently, of CNN's projection of New York being underwater by 2015, or something like that, that really made me think.
It's an issue whose real nature is unknown to most (if not all) in the general public, and that fact is used for marketing and manipulation. Plus, with things like the pic I mentioned above, when the moment of truth comes, it's a big, disappointing fizzle. The fun part about climate change is that we get to laugh at that fizzly moment again and again, because it just keeps happening!

From what I understand, the world has been ending for a long time.

Everything with a start has an end.
Of course, but we've survived quite a lot of shit and there can really only be one end of the world. I don't think humanity is going anywhere remotely soon.

People have always been fascinated by Doomsday prophecy this is just another example of that.

Yes but the vast majority of iy was alarmist bullshit. You had people selling software that literally did nothing. People made a pretty dime from all that shit.

Yes i was in a very large data center for a global company. A company with literally thousands of servers under that single roof. And then there was the mainframe. And it was worked on for a long time. You do not have the slightest idea wtf youre talking about. Go back to the geek squad. You can see others in this thread w the same experience. Just shut the fuck up.

There wasn't no fallout, actually. There were a few minor failures that were apparently due to the bug.
There were actually some problems that surfaced with some computers back in 1969. Seems a lot of banks write 30 year mortgages. I don't see that in the list on Wikipedia though.

Its simply a distraction for liberals and a money grab for elites. Dont pay attention to the very real threat of Islamic invasion and semetic slavery, goy, climate shange is the real Boogeyman! And that evil white supremacist Donald Trump won't give up your shekels for it! All your coastlines will be underwater any day now! Just like we said bck in the 80s!!!
