I wish I could upvoat more than once. I made a radical change on January 26th by strictly cutting out any processed foods and putting raw vegetables in the center of my diet.
Oh what a change in mood! (And almost everything else, i.e., productivity, skin, eyesight etc.)

Of course it does! It is the most blatant thing that the food you put in your body every single day determines how you perform in every aspect of your life. Yet the majority of people actively chooses to ignore this.
I was one of them not long and I am honestly baffled by my own ignorance. Pretty sure I was rationalising junk food like an addict, as an ex-smoker I should know.

I'm very lucky because the grocery store right by my workplace has a "snackbar", where they stack up daily with raw veggies like various kinds of tomatoes, bell peppers, mini cukes, radishes and the kind, so while my coworkers grab themselves some white-flour atrocities filled with processed meats, I just grab a cup full of those, rinse them with water and if I'm feeling fancy I grab some tuna, a hard-boiled egg or some cashews or almonds with it.
When at home I usually eat them in a salad with all kinds of leafy greens.
That isn't to say that I don't have a big flap of meat with cooked veggies every now and again.

You got to grow more than just veggies, you need staples like Potatoes, which people could indefinitely sustain themselves off of. And for the notion "It doesn't make sense potatoes are so cheap", yeah, and they're also consistently tested with a higher amounts of pesticides found on them, even after processing, than most other foods.
It's literally to the point nothing you can buy from the store to eat is either safe, or at least you can't know, or prove, or find anything after running several tests, that actually is safe to eat.

Yes, but same goes for the soil on your very own property and the water you use on your plants, depending on where you live, chances are, those are full of pesticides aswell. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Kelly Brogan, a highly credentialed "holistic psychiatrist" was on Joe Rogan a few weeks ago. She red pilled me pretty hard on psych meds.

For anyone curious, this appears to be JRE #968 - KELLY BROGAN you're looking for
[–] GreatestOfAllTime 0 points 1 point 1 point (+1|-0) ago
She is quite the opposite, and has been pretty much professionally blacklisted because of it. She doesn't see long term patients, and under no circumstance prescribes pills. It's worth listening to the podcast.

Or to fuck with you.
Or to squeeze all your stories out so they can tell their friends.
They're human, and humans are garbage to each other.

Addiction causes depression. Sugar is heroin. Fuck sugar.
[–] smokratez [S] 0 points 2 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago
Isn't sugar 5 times more addictive than heroin?
[–] 9484529? 0 points 7 points 7 points (+7|-0) ago (edited ago)
According to anything one reads, everything is more addictive than heroin. Having never tried heroin, I'll just call bullshit based on no personal experience, and take any demerits for a lack of citation that are due to me.
