Im sure a good number of those people are off because they don't have jobs. The fact that the article compares unemployed of 2017 v 2011 and not pre v post job requirement encourages that. So we're not helping people yet.

None of this is about helping people.

yes it is, it's about lighting a fire under their asses to find work and not need food stamps. Its also about helping the working class by not having freeloaders siphon their money.

People without jobs who partake in state job training programs keep their SNAP benefits.

Remember that old saying?
......you don't work, you don't eat.
It's about time to apply that to every state.
KUDOS, Alabama.

A new study just released by the USDA, offers a very detailed look at exactly how participants in the "Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program" (SNAP, aka Food Stamps) spend their taxpayer-funded subsidies. Unfortunately for taxpayers, the amount of money spent on soft drinks and other unnecessary junk foods/drinks is fairly staggering. But, we suppose it's a nice taxpayer funded subsidy for the soda industry...so score one for Warren Buffett and the Coca Cola lobbyists.
'Nuff said.

And then never have to worry about food again. Win-win.

Is this full time jobs? Or part time work? What's the hours a week cut off required for stamps?
[–] Rainy-Day-Dream 0 points 2 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago
that 15% of the freeloaders actually decided to work for their gibs is the surprising part
[–] hypercat 0 points 1 point 1 point (+1|-0) ago
The problem with food stamps is fatties use it to supplement their low income to buy more junk and states won't vote to remove soda and sugary drinks from the list of approved items. yet they will drop it if they are required to work because they think they are too fat to work, or that they don't want / need to work. At this point they will just claim disability and get food assistance that way.

Many already work, just under the table. So they got benefits and pay.
