Like anybody cares about Eurostan.
If they actually do eventually pay for their own NATO and carbon credits the euro collapse might keep the dollar stable for a bit longer, maybe that's the idea behind the Saudi arms deal

So if the Eurocucks hate the US, UK, and Russia, where are they going to turn?
[–] HarlandKornfeld14 0 points 1 point 1 point (+1|-0) ago
Right, but the EU is butthurt over Brexit and Crimea. I mean, their Brexit 'terms' are derisive as well.

Can you imagine if the situation was reversed and Trump was attempting to influence the entire manufacturing sectors of foreign nations worldwide to benefit only Americans?

This is nothing more than virtue signaling. Cities are always strapped for cash and there's zero chance they're going to take millions out of their coffers.

Fuck this Paris agreement, no one ever asked us, the people, if we wanted this. This is not about the planet or democracy but the erosion of democracy.

No they won't. Well, they might talk, but they won't accomplish a damn thing but waste time, money and spew pollution into the air by flying around the globe. The only thing they were getting that was actually worth anything to them in the deal was US cash. And states and cities are not going to send them any.

A number of US companies and cities have already announced their intentions to follow the paris agreement regardless.
Trump said he represent Pittsburgh, not Paris.
Paris mayor issued his own executive order ordering compliance

along with many other mayors and governors

That still leaves out the cash. I don't care if all of these individual entities want to volunteer to follow the regulations and standards, as long as we are not paying for it.

But that's mostly my point. "Following" the agreement for a state or city is an almost nonsensical concept because the importance of the US to the framework of the agreement had nothing to do with the sorts of actions a state or city can take. It is very widely acknowledged that none of the actions called for in the agreement will actually affect the future climate in any material way. It is entirely a scheme to transfer wealth from rich nations to poor nations and surrender sovereignty to an international organization. None of that is going to be done by states or cities.

Resistance to anything Trump says or does pretty much disqualifies this city as a voice of the people of the USA. All lefties will try to give their power away to the biggest, least accountable government. Right now, that's the EU.
