Fuck this Paris agreement, no one ever asked us, the people, if we wanted this. This is not about the planet or democracy but the erosion of democracy.

I view this as a win-win-win

Win - Trump did the right thing in bringing to light the inequity of the Paris Accord and rejecting it.

Win - Trump can absolve himself of any bad decisions connected to the Paris Accord.

Win - Individual states are deciding to take their own measures for green energy and reducing carbon footprint.

It's kind of genius really.

You can't renegotiate agreements like these every 4-8 years. I agree it was a bad agreement, for the US but expecting the other parties to renegotiate is folly. It would open the door to renegotiate every international agreement, every time there was an election somewhere.

So they'll try to use their power to ReNegotiate with each State? I hope Donald puts a quick stop to that bullshit

This reminds me of how foreign nations dealt with the U.S. when they had the Article of Confederation. They deal directly with the states with no national government coordination. It sounds like their appealing to State's Rights enthusiasts.

Dumb, dumb article. Cities and states have become powerful players in international relations in recent decades. This trend has been driving international affairs bottom up for decades. Track Parag Khanna. He's a spokesperson for technocracy but he's also describing what is indeed occurring. http://www.paragkhanna.com/
