nope. doing need that, its just another way they can follow you. and it just use up battery. i did throw it off a roof at a festive, give some lad a black eye
I like the note series. Just make sure you get a model you can root. The one I have now, the bootloader is locked.
I'm primarily concerned with having a cheap phone that gets the job done. My current phone has 8GB of storage and is annoying me with "not enough storage" issues, so something with 16GB or 32GB would be nice.
Probably going to upgrade to whatever Republic Wireless has around the $150 range the next time there's a sale. Probably a Moto G something. Not interested in paying more than $20/month so I'll probably stick with RW as a provider.

Nexus 5x with copperhead, or that tor variety

Really? Granted I'm running stock, but the battery life sucks unless you put in saver mode from the start, and the wifi uploads speeds are non-existent
I do not have these problems. I have ran both stock and the others.

I'm a long time Nexus fan. This last of it's kind Nexus phone is almost perfect IMHO.
I am loving the phone, only problem is that the headphone jack is on the bottom.

I used to have an HTC as well, when my last phone needed replacement I went with the Cat S40. It's a bit more sluggish than the HTC, has a lower screen resolution (both due to power-saving) and is ugly as sin... But it is practically indestructible and is the only smartphone I've ever seen with 3-4 days of battery life (standby, regular usage - or about 18 hours(!) of talk-time). They also still push Android updates pretty regularly.
