I decided to just let it fester. Haven't been there for more than a year and don't intend to ever go back.

Did the same a few years back, the only thing I missed was having an IM with all my friends. Got a few friends to move to hangouts, the rest I just text. Shocking how the world didn't end :P

If you "honestly" think you PERMANENTLY DELETED your facebook account then try this: go to facebook.com and try sigining in with your old username/password. I guarantee you your old posts are still there when you do!

What if you go through and delete all your posts and pictures before deleting?

If you have the patience to delete everything manually maybe it will stay deleted.....oh wait....no it won't....facebook keeps EVERYTHING!

I did that but then two years later I made an account but I can count one one hand the number of times I've logged in. It's important to have a Facebook for distant family but I still can't bring myself to use it. I do not like Facebook.

I just stopped using it. I don't want to be on a "not on facebook" list.
