I'm more concerned about this "women should be trashy whores" movie comedy trend. Seems more subversive and successful than explosion based shekel generation.

where the fuck do ya'll live? San Antonio Texas here. I live 15 minute walk from a really good imax theater. its about 12 bucks for a ticket? And it is a gigantic screen just watched gaurdians of the galexy vol 2. Worth it for me and good movie more funny then real sci fi, but good. Food is crazy expensive but thats why the wife has a big purse to stuff candy etc into it. I do get the expensive nachos but they are pretty big and come with lots of cheese and you get all the jalapenos you want? just saying for me it aint bad. guy below me said what I was thinking, 3D is only good on imax only time I watch 3d is at an imax.

I almost wanted to see the alien movie. I have gone to the movies once since Avatar. I can't remember the name of it though.

The 3D shit is a fucking scam. If it's not on an Imax screen who gives a fuck?
Hollywood is losing the fight against downloading. About time too

Damn, where do you live? Tickets are $6.50 where I'm at, and only $5 on Tuesdays, which I'm more than willing to pay for a movie I really want to see.

why
...a politically correct version perhaps? with appropriately diverse crew (fat chicks, trannies, token ethnic chick, at least one lifeguard wearing a burqa of course, etc.) - and of course a suitably enlightened and progressive story line?
Just guessing, there is no way I'll go see this piece :-)

Okay, so despite Dwane Johnson, I can see how Baywatch could be an unmitigated garbage fire. However, with Javier Bardem on the cast I'm a little reluctant to say Pirates is that bad. (Maybe I'm wrong - I like the Pirates thing.)
That said, maybe people are just sick of going to the theaters?
Who wants to wait in lines, pay far too much, eat shitty ridiculously overpriced food, sit in very uncomfortable seats, be forced to watch a fuck ton of advertisements, and listen to people chew and talk through a movie when you can have a better experience with all of that (for much less money and time - remember you have to travel to the theater and park and all) in your own home?
Fuck theaters.

They fucked up Alien for the 5th time. Don't underestimate the power of stupidity.
For anyone with a 4k TV, a good speaker system, and a way to download full 1080+ movies, why the fuck would you bother watching garbage in (forced) 3D, at lower resolution and blurred background?
It's seriously so much better by an unbelievable margin. The only reason I go to the theater now is
A. a friend invited me
B. date night with the wife and she just HAS to see Beauty and the Beast
C. I want to support intellectual property like Dredd or a high fantasy work(lotr) so they will make more.
C is why we should be going to the movies. However it is still dominated by the 13-19 year old demographic, therefore the movies with the most funding (targeting that audience for maximum profit) are shallow action movies with lots of breasts and explosions, WBesque stupid and implausible love stories, and shit from childrens media (comics, books, shows, games). Though Marvel/Disney are making them entertaining.

I think depp did something to earn the ire of sjw's, so as usual, they are predicting the demise of everything remotely related to him.

Problem with Pirates is that it's just an okay franchise that's been dragged out far too long. They might have been able to pull it off had the release dates been a little closer together. It's too forgettable that they need to re-win the audience over each time and each time it drastically loses more of its novelty so it's harder to capture the audience each time.

Yeah, the first one was fun. All the rest were completely unnecessary. I wasn't even aware there was a 4, nor did I need to be.

In Africa they like the movie so much they do live reenactments and shows for European trade ships.
