Who wants to wait in lines, pay far too much, eat shitty ridiculously overpriced food, sit in very uncomfortable seats, be forced to watch a fuck ton of advertisements, and listen to people chew and talk through a movie when you can have a better experience with all of that (for much less money and time - remember you have to travel to the theater and park and all) in your own home?

I do like Imax. Usually exceptional sound and resolution. The seats in the Imax theater used to be better than in the Digital or regular theaters. The electric control reclining comfy seats they have now are much nicer.

Don't forget being at risk of being blown bits to award a sexually deprived muslim of his 72 virgins or shot by some crazy nigger or stabbed by a lonely middle-aged white man in the name of god.

I don't know about that. About a decade ago my town only had 3-4 small theaters playing new releases now there's close to 10 nearly half of them being big mutiplexes. They're always packed providing there's a popular film out. Instead of dying like everyone claims they seem to be taking over.

I've noticed the same thing. Where (((Hollywood))) is claiming that all these movies are bombing I never see an empty parking lot at a multiplex on a Friday or Saturday night.

Personally for me it's between the stuff that you listed and the fact that I just can't get excited for another remake/reboot/sequal/prequal. Original movies are so rare these days and they never get the hype that these types of movies get. I always have to remind myself that Hollywood isn't in it to make good movies they're in it to make money and these types of movies are sadly a safer bet that they are always more willing to take.

I can only upgoat once. Hrmf.

Last two movies I saw in a theatre were Minority Report and LoTR 3 (can't remember which order). Inconvenient, uncomfortable, always end up next to someone I'd rather not sit next to (or even near). Also ridiculously expensive and most movies are crap anyway. I don't miss it one bit. Feh.
