For me, it comes down to Mueller and Messi. Both have had outstanding World Cups. So whoever impresses me more in the final will have my vote. If I had to pick now, I'd say Messi only because Mueller has a better team around him.
I don't think Messi had a great wold cup. He scored important goals, but most of the time he's just walking on the pitch. I'd even say that Di Maria and Mascherano had a bigger impact on Argentina's performance.
For me it should have been between Mueller, Kroos and James.

In Messi's defense, he played more minutes than anyone else in the WC. I think he was feeling it in the final vs Germany. He didn't look very sharp.
I think after watching the final, I think Mueller should've won it. Although, Kroos definitely has a reason to have his named mentioned.
