You won't catch me criticizing you for staying vigilant. I appreciate your concerns here.

I didn't come here to escape a hive mind, personally. I came here to escape censorship. I wanted a platform where anyone could say and discuss anything on their mind, and that platform was, and is still, Voat. If a hive mind forms it is up to individual users to change that.

To this day I maintain that the negative CCP restrictions are Voat's only flaw. They are the closest thing to censorship we have, and they punish people for having unpopular views. Sometimes the restrictions only affect spammers, but often they affect legitimate users who just posted too many unpopular opinions. I don't think that should be grounds for restriction, but furthermore that reality discourages others from daring to challenge the hive mind. I wouldn't care about CCP at all if there wasn't a risk of me losing my ability to post as frequently as I like.

Why must everyone have an agenda

Everyone has a different set of fundamental principles and everyone wants to live in a different world than the one that is real. Only by exchanging ideas, either legitimate facts or manipulated truths, can we convince others that our way is best, and only through convincing others that our way is best is there any hope at all of peaceably transitioning to the new way of life. That's why everyone has an agenda.

Jesus man. I almost teared up reading that haha, you write eloquently. I very much agree with everything.

I came here to escape censorship as well, I just mean I don't go to the_donald either because it's a hivemind. I have v/politics blocked.

I don't blame you for blocking /v/politics, and I certainly don't fault you for not visiting the_donald. In my first few months on Voat I had /v/politics and /v/news both blocked because they utterly consumed my front page. I have them unblocked now and frankly they still consume it. I do find it nice seeing the takes on current events that you won't easily find elsewhere.
