Wonder if that's the same reason Macs just got the spinning wheel of death.

To be fair I have actually had it resolve the issue when something stupid has happened. But that has only happened a couple of times of memory serves.

The issue that I've got is that they keep putting these layers of obfuscation over everything. Which gets progressively worse with every new version of windows. So that even doing basic stuff like checking the subnet mask or the ip address becomes this massive PITA. It's like you have to spend more time finding out some magic number from the user for you to connect remotely into the computer than what it takes to fix the issue. And yes I know how to use Active Directory.

Honestly, I wouldn't doubt if they've done this from the beginning as a matter of policy. Maybe a way to discourage people from venturing beyond the garden? Or to make them feel helpless and subservient to their Microsoft overlords? I don't know.

I have NEVER once, not ever, seen one of these idiotic things come back with anything helpful. On rare occasions you'll sometimes get a "Is it plugged in?" question. But 99% of the time it just says "can't find an answer".

Like OP said, what is the actual point? Just rip the bandaid off and go back to the Blue Screen of Death. At least it was honest.

Network troubleshooter usually magically fixes wifi for me whenever that magically breaks, but other that that, I've not got any help from windows trying to fix itself.
