Yea, but Verizon still pays you, so even though you're 'editorially independent', it's clear as day you don't bite the hand that feeds you.
Exactly how would they bite the hand in this article even if they were inclined? It is basically just a few sentences factually outlining exactly what happened.

I wonder what would happen if we had absolute bandwidth anarchy. Currently it's illegal to do almost anything digital on the amature radio spectrum. We could do so much cool shit as individuals if given the space. We wouldn't even need these corporations. A complex network of meshnets as interesting as the internet itself would come out of it, including the ability to relay a signal over internet and have it pop out elsewhere via a peer.
