The former embraces the label of socialism, the other screeches bloody murder if you say they're socialist.

One is a democracy, the other is a dictatorship.

The race they want to burn at the stake. That's the only differentiator.

Democratic Socialism promotes a socialistic order across all nations and races (the target enemy is the upper class / the burgeoise). National socialism promotes a socialistic order that only benefits those who are part of the nation of origin (the target enemy are foreigners and any minorities that might somehow control the upper class).

If the nation in question is a democracy, the difference is none.
National Socialism, when referring to the mid-twentieth century German Nazism, also has a fascist connotation, simply because Hitler and those following him existed within the context of war. So they used force to oppose their enemies. Hitler targeted Jews because the Jews targeted Germany. Hitler targeted France and Europe at large because France and Europe at large screwed over Germany entirely with the Treaty of Versailles. But Hitler still lead a socialist (and thus overreaching) state, depriving Germany's own citizens of basic liberties by transferring resources, controlling education, etc. Just like a "democratic socialism"
