I always wonder if fractals constantly show up in nature because it cuts down on energy requirements or if it's because it cuts down on simulation resource requirements.
Nature only has patterns. Nothing is random. A pattern is a visual/physical representation of energy flow. A spiral, shows energy being collected towards the center slowly. There isn't a single good article showing the patterns but here's an article on it and the page from the book, though that requires a bit of imagination. Study the patterns and go outside. So amazing to observe them.
