I've come to expect it at this point. Never idolize a celebrity. Get a real role model that you know personally.

Not really. I grew up watching his show too and yeah my kid watched reruns of his show too. But I don't feel betrayed or swindled. The fact is I just assume people on television are fake and devoid of real character. I've been proven right on this 100% of the time.

I suppose. It would seem that the reason why he thinks that sex junk segment is so special is because as a whore he can relate to it.

No, I felt betrayal years ago when I learned that he was actually an actor and not a true scientist.

Why betrayed? Did you know him personally? Are you friends?
Fault is on the people. First for getting scientific info from someone who isn't a scientist. Second for letting the TV raise their kids. And finally, for not understanding the difference between an actor and invented persona and the real world.
Bill Nye is a performer, he owns nothing to anyone and is very likely pandering because he thinks it will bring him money. Once he see it is otherwise, he will probably backtrack himself a little.
The loser here is him, who is alienating part of his viewers with content that is presented with such bad quality. I can deal with controversial, but objectively, it is a piece of crap on the production side. For the viewers, it is as easier as change the channel.

Yes, but losing Stephen Colbert hurt more.
