I watched him when I was younger, but I didn't really like his show, and I didn't really like him. That never changed. I never liked the guy, and as I spent more time in science I couldn't figure out why he seemed to be key, especially in the whole global warming nonsense.
So, I don't feel betrayed. I can understand why you, and maybe other do, but I feel vindicated in a way; that he was a screwball, but I didn't have evidence, but now...

Yes, but losing Stephen Colbert hurt more.

At least wrestlers aren't pretentious political hacks pretending to be something their not.

I never assumed he was on my side, because my first exposure to him wasn't as Bill Nye the Science Guy. To me that was just one of the roles he played on a Seattle comedy show called Almost Live.

Beakman was my boy.
Funny- all of the "fellow kids" shit in Bill Nye's new show (that stupid hand bump, using the word "cool" to describe everything, etc) fails miserably at connecting with young adult audiences and is honestly pretty cringe at times. I feel like Beakman did it way better 15 years without even trying.

Never heard of the guy until a few years ago, I guess he is not well known outside of USA. What I understand is that this BSc did a kids show to make kids more enthusiastic about science, which I applaud. And now it seems he is involved in an ideological show, fooling it's audience by attaching a 'science'-label to the show. Sad
