Dont make this political like the people youre trying to bash. Children getting killed is never good.

You should care. But you should also care that it might have been Al Quida trying to coax us into a war. And you should also care that if we care about the lives of children our going in will result in the deaths of children on a scale well above 24.

Because a certain amount of empathy and sympathy for the suffering of life other than you and your immediate in-group is healthy. Do you literally not care even the slightest smallest amount? Or do you just not care enough for it to measurably influence other priorities that are much more important to you? There's a big difference between the two. Practically speaking it's not a big difference, but morally it's an important difference.

Why does my empathy have to extend to them? For all you know I could already volunteer at shelters and shit.

It doesn't have to extend to them, but people, who do have at least a tinsy amount of empathy for all living creatures that can feel pain, will likely view you as a monster if you literally feel nothing for them. That's pretty much the only disadvantage, unless you want to be viewed as a monster by many people. I'm not saying that it should determine whether people view you as a monster, but that's just the way it is.

Every child deserves a chance at a good life. Growing up in a warzone is not a healthy experience. I'd rather have the next generation of humans all over the planet living to their full potential, thinking through their decisions instead of acting on survival instincts, and not holding grudges. I'd rather have the next generation worrying about writing a good novel, inventing high speed transportation, solving cancer, instead of war.

that chance gets taken away by their families and culture. the only thing we can do that would work is replace them with our own after they are gone...

A better thing to do would be to care about the problem(s) leading to things like this. You'd essentially care about everything while attempting/helping take care of the problem.

Otherwise you'd just care about THOSE kids, but what about the rest?

Because most of the children are innocent and caught up in a islam mind fuck in a militarry industrial complex world.

So what? Why should I care more about them than all of the Canadian or American kids that needlessly suffer?

Because they are your brothers and sisters. Their moral worth is equivalent to your own. Their health and well-being are just as important as your own. Go read a book on ethics and morals if your so interested!
