I wonder if he held the gun to his head and made himself say "Joy Lane" before pulling the trigger.

That trooper who IDed him was lucky. It really looked like this crazy motherfucker was going to go down blasting. This is the best outcome of a sad situation. Not a single taxpayer bullet fired, no SWAT standoff or lengthy rehabilitation of injured officers. No trial, no waste of the court's time to convict a person who literally filmed himself committing murder. All in all, a good Tuesday for justice.

I was just thinking how lucky he was. Could have turned bad real quick.

Pity he didn't do this before he killed an innocent man.
I bet he still votes Democrat at the next election.
Actually, in this context, "I bet he still" is perfectly acceptable grammar.

Is this justice?

I asked almost thinking out loud. The death sentence is such a highly debated topic. I'm against it personally. And it was strange because I've been toying with a similar philosophical situation in my head.
A man, let's say hitler times a million, is apprehended and sentenced to execution. As he is escorted from the prison house an enormous piano falls on his head and he dies instantly. Is that justice? Do people feel better about it? [I haven't given it much thought past this point]
This football situation is so similar.

Well that's good at least no one else will get shot.
