Companies are always business-driven. Unless they want to go the way of the DoDo or twitter.
I hate agile but this looks like a terrible rant from a pampered 10 year old with puerile attempts at justification.

I don't code anymore, but my designs use code that is being developed under agile. Every time I stick my nose into that process I walk away with a shiver down my spine and thanking God that I do not code anymore...

Those coding fads are responsible for the downward spiral in software quality.
