Way cool site, OP. Thanks for sharing!
As for the take-down, I forget how http://hardcodex.ru/ was able to keep his up after WotC's initial complains, but he did. There's also a FANTASTIC Android app that displays spell cards.
And one final note, please join us over on /v/dnd5e for all your 5E-specific stuff. :D

Would I be able to transcribe the spells from the PHB to a wiki? My group would be very interested in such a thing and I've already gotten the framework figured out.

It shouldn't, there are plenty of other resources for other editions and even the current one that have been around forever.

For anyone planning on using this, this doesn't include the Unearthed Arcana: Elemental Evil spells, which add a lot of evocation, transmutation and conjuration spells that rely on the elements.
Of note, Ice Dagger (Lvl 1 Conjuration), Absorb Elements (Lvl 1 Abjuration) and Melf’s Minute Meteors (Lvl 3 Evocation) are all very powerful additions.
Make sure you add a link to those spells for your database.

It's not mine, and it does have spells missing.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply YOUR database specifically. I meant for anyone planning on using this, include a link to Elemental Evil.
