It only works at the right temperature and pressure, which is really hard to come by in the desert. Another great idea that's short on science.

I think that this may be a bit too complex and expensive for the run of the mill desert dweller.
A simpler solution would be to convince them to move.

I think the only way this technology will reach the hands of Africans is if Africans are the ones designing and building these devices. Once Yang and her associates develop the patents, it will essentially be hands off for those in Africa. Also, I'm not sure there's much of a profit motive for those in 1st world countries to develop this and export it to 3rd world countries.
