Police departments say they don't enforce immigration laws. But their manuals say something different - LA Times
'The department has steadfastly refused to take part in immigration enforcement, he said.“I would say the purpose of us stopping someone would not be for immigration enforcement. ', "Like many law enforcement agencies across California, Culver City police say officers don't enforce federal immigration law."
'A Lexipol spokeswoman would not say how many law enforcement departments in California use the company’s policies. '
'Rialto Police Chief Randy De Anda said he was concerned about the possibility that crime victims might decide against contacting police, even though his agency does not engage in immigration enforcement. '
'ACLU officials said they identified nearly a dozen agencies using the Lexipol policy by submitting public records requests to various departments for their policies. '

Apparently lack of ability to speak English is a trait common amongst Californians. Their schools must really suck.

For 20 years we had a law on the books to outright not fund education in any other language except English. The sneaky fuckers (read: Invading Army of Mexico) that are running our government worded a voter initiative in such a way it looked like they were going to ban Spanish completely (since some schools actively ignored the no funding part) and pretended it won't cost any money to hire these Spanish speaking educators to teach all the subjects.
I was pissed when I looked up the bill afterwords when I heard they passed a law saying classes will be taught in Spanish. The language of the excerpt on the voting ballot was literally worded as the exact opposite of the shit they passed.
