Y'know that scene in Milo and Otis, where Milo, in a box, falls down a waterfall? Well, the first Milo didn't survive that fall. I wanna say... the first seven didn't? Maybe more. But there were a whole bunch of Milos that died during the making of the movie.

That's really not a very big drop. I can't see how any cat could die from that even if things did go horribly wrong. Even if it tipped over and the cat fell out at the very top of the drop it still wouldn't die. The depth of the water and speed of the current are also not enough that the cat would drown.

And the complicity of people in authority.

Not just complicity, but participation in certain instances.

I live in Minneapolis and I learned last year sometime that the Mall of America is a hub for sex slave trafficking because there are so many people and so many tourists.

30% or so of all pregnancies end in miscarriage. Not a lot of people know and even less talk about it. Some women still won't tell their husbands about being pregnant until 3 months in to make sure they don't miscarry first.
Edit: do you people not like dark truths?

Why the downvotes? http://miscarriage.about.com/od/riskfactors/a/miscarriage-statistics.htm

No idea. It's just a fact and it's pretty dark. I wonder about some of the users here sometimes.

My mother told me for a while it was just used by doctors to explain away deaths that were not really explainable, be they smotherings from the mother, or the baby rolling over in its sleep. This was more prevalent in the 70's to 90's. Everyone kind of knew, but just assumed the doctor knew best as to the 'cause'.
There are also medical reasons, such as the development of the trachea coinciding with the time period in which SIDS is most prevalent. It is also associated with parents who smoke indoors and who smoked during pregnancy.

You assume that they didnt already have it
[–] FBl 0 points 4 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago
A sane person doesn't do that kind of shit for "laughs". They have something mentally wrong with them to go look for CP (or as another said, they more than likely already had it on their pc) to post on a site to report them and get them shut down.
All because the people on this site hurt their feelings or don't think the way that they do. So, they resort to gross tactics to try and prove they are the "better" people while claiming we are the big bad boogeymen of the internet, when in reality...it's them. They're the ones that stoop so low to try and get their way, using images of children in a sexual manner to "prove" something. What makes them fucked in the head is that they actually think they're doing something good and they're the innocent ones in this situation.
It's sickening.

Statistically, you'll meet a serial killer during your lifetime.
[–] lodro 0 points 7 points 7 points (+7|-0) ago
That definitely isn't true everywhere, and I seriously doubt that it's true anywhere. Murder is quite uncommon itself, and serial killing is extremely uncommon.
Even meeting a future murderer seems like a long shot for most people.
Also, I don't believe you understand how statistics are done. Statistically, x will happen? So the probably is 1? In that case, it's hard to see how this could be a statistical conclusion - statistics is a branch of math used to consider the likelihood of uncertain events. Your claim is self-contradictory.
So where's the math?
[–] penguincheerleader 0 points 3 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago
The gauntlet has been thrown down, /u/Alias_Unknown can you bring up the statistics and do the math?
[–] Truly 0 points 3 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago
While I completely agree his claim doesn't pass my smell test I think you are being a bit obtuse on the second part.
I'd say most people would understand "statistically" to mean "You are more likely than not". So assuming the chance of living your life and meeting a serial killer is greater than not.
[–] pm_me_firearms 0 points 1 point 1 point (+1|-0) ago
