I love the game not so much for the competition against other players but for the necessity of being able to be calm and consistent.
Plus the blowjobs that you can get during events hosted by strip joints.

I think I'd watch more golf if it was a contact sport.

They should have golf duels, where, at long distance, you attempt to strike each other with golf balls. Points are scored by medical expenses, balls are pointy, equipped with Taser technology and/or incendiary, and arranged around the course to encourage eventually getting closer to each other.

I had a list, but I can sum up - if there's a ball, I can't care.

I work at one of the top golf resorts in the nation and honestly most of the time these guys are actually pretty friendly. However there seems to be a fag culture of pretending to be something special. I've had decent conversations with a lot of them but can't ever see myself becoming a part of their wanna be "athletic sport".

I can watch it on TV. I think it's more exciting than watching NASCAR tbh.
That's what a scramble is for. All players hit the ball from the same spot, and whoever hits the closest to the hole is where everyone hits from again. Of course, you have to go out and find your ball, and that can be a pain.

For us non-rich players, Golf is a game about respect, determination, hard work and rewards. Note: This will be an analysis of public, actual decent golf course. Not dog tracks, not stuffy country clubs, but your average public golf course.
For actual players, not the meat heads that come out and play just to have an excuse to drink shitty beer, it is about enjoying the beauty and the hard work that goes into designing and maintaining the course. There are a lot of people behind the scenes that make sure the golf course is in great playing condition. The thing I love the most about golf is that every round is different. The tees are in a slightly different spot, the pins are moved around, the wind is usually different, etc.
The greatest reward in golf is to shoot either par or below par. There are plenty of people who play competitively against each other, but really golf is about beating Old Man Par. "He" is the main adversary and should be your goal when playing. As in most cases, people need to have some type of monetary motivation and they create side games for cash or play tournaments for cash prizes. In my opinion, these can be fun, but it really takes the individualism (you playing against old man par) out of the game.
Golf is a gentlemen (and ladies now) game. You take your time, act in general kindness to other players, have an order to follow when playing. It just creates a nice, relaxing setting for you to enjoy for a few hours a day.
This all said, I agree with you, OP, about the stuffy pricks at private and public clubs. Those people are cunts are usually hated by everyone else. For the rest of us, the best thing to do when playing golf is to just enjoying being outside. It's an environment that I have enjoyed growing up in and if you can look past the few cunt members/players, golf can be a challenging, yet rewarding game/sport/activity/what-have-you.

I frequent a very nice resort's clubhouse because I get very cheap alcohol and it's within stumbling distance. Posting from there now actually. It's really impressive how dedicated and hard working some of these folks are. Boring as shit tv, fo sho, though.

Yeah, I usually only watch the Majors, the Waste Mgmt Open and the Player's Championship at Sawgrass.
Watching it on TV just makes me go out and play a round myself.
