I get that she's a kid, and best of luck to her. However, even with craptastic parents I feel like kids know the connection between food quantity and weight. They may not get quality. Also, she's 16... Isn't that the internet generation? She has access to the info even if she wasn't taught it.

And I get that, but she's just to a point where she's old enough to start doing things on her own. Like make her own food etc. And she seems to want to work on it. So I'll try to help out. But if it turns into a situation where she obviously doesn't want to make the effort to change, I'm out. She's old enough to decide that for herself, for sure.

Idk how to fix the problem with childhood obesity. BUT I think Child Protective Services needs to label prolonged childhood obesity under medical neglect. It does effect life prospectives and society. No kid should get that bad. Hamparents need to be punished for this.
