I would highly recommend dancing. I'm particularly fond of East Coast Swing. There are plenty of dance clubs that give cheap/free lessons before an open dance session later in the evening. It is great fun, great exercise, and one of my favorite things to do with my wife. If you want something a little more sultry, take up Blues Dancing.

One thing with couples dancing; when you're in a class, don't be that shitty couple that insists on only dancing with each other. You learn much better by dancing with lots of different people, seeing what feels right, what feels wrong, and bringing that information back to your partner. Good dance classes will make you rotate who you're dancing with every song or two.

My girlfriend is staying with me for the summer break (she's an elementary school teacher and we're in a LDR), and we set ourselves a goal that we'd go through the Kama Sutra cover to cover by the time she leaves.
It arrived in the mail today.

I do a lot of things with my girlfriend, We go out drinking at bars, go to winery, to brewery, Hiking, Biking, lifting weights, cooking, chores, walking the dogs(not sure if dogs and chores count), golf at the driving range, I taught her how to snowboard a few years ago. Watching TV/movies, Internet next to each other and show each other funny or cute things. Any hobby you both have any interest in doing and if one of you knows more they can teach the other. My roommates game together. My brother and his SO read comics separately but at the same time. Find any common interests.
I am not sure now if it's cute or gross that we do so many activities together...

My girlfriend and I are getting into loose leaf tea. The preparation and choosing and enjoying are all things that can be done together.

Brewing beer takes commitment, time, and learning. It's not too big of a deal, but it's more self improving than video games or sex all day.

You will learn a lot once you start brewing your own beer. It can be as simple or as complex as you want to make it.
You will learn about chemistry as you attempt to master the chemical reactions that occur in your wort. Microbiology as you learn more about that interesting creature 'the yeast cell' Engineering as you try to build your own brew kettle, brew stand, kegerator, etc. Gardening if you want to grow your own hops. Most importantly you will learn the integral part beer has played in the formation of civilization.

Mario Kart. That will be a great crucible to test the strength of your relationship.
