Go over to XDA Developers and download a ROM for your phone to your computer. Transfer it to your phone via USB. Use TWRP to install it.

One of the posts mentions that I'm unable to transfer anything to my phone unless it boots up. I'm stuck in recovery, even if I tell it to boot to system. I'll try hooking it up to my computer now

Ok, that worked. When I tried this before I think either the computer wouldn't detect the phone or something stopped me from transferring files (I still haven't transferred any files thought).

So, you've got a working recovery? Just flash a new rom then. Maybe give Lineage OS a try.

Ok, one question I have here is how do I pull my prefs/settings files from the OS when in recovery mode? I see there's an option to make a back up, but I've never used that. I mean, I've MADE a back up from the recovery but I never used it to restore. Does that just restore prefs/settings and is agnostic to the OS I have or is that OS specific stuff?
