The odds of him getting cancer again is almost 100% after you have it once your odds double every time, so hes already had it 4 times he's fucked. It will catch up to him no doubt
This is like an older guy in our neighborhood. He eats and drinks heavily, has had two kidney transplants (as well), and had a heart attack at the pool when my mom was working there. My slender, tiny, short 60 year old mom (and this was before her knee replacement surgeries so she didn't even have functional knees at the time) was the one that had to drag him out of the pool to make sure he wouldn't drown. He still drinks excessively. He's also dumping his wife for a very young Asian lady who is obviously looking for a green card.

My sister is my hero. She gave me a kidney (left Australia and her babies to come to Vancouver to give it to me) 5 years ago and I took THE BEST care of it I could. I followed all the directions, despite it being difficult. I took my meds on the dot, I ate specifically what and when I was supposed to, didn't drink, didn't do drugs, I took everything so seriously, despite it being so hard on my body I just wanted to give up.
It pisses me off that it failed after two years due to the rare type of Kidney Disease that I have, but two years was actually pretty good despite it. My friend, who has the same condition as me (only other person I've met with it), had her kidney last two days.
Your ex-friend does NOT deserve the gift of life.
