It's about drinking weakening parts of his heart as well as giving him a fatty liver (basically when overworked due to alcoholism.)

Let's be honest, he treated his body like a sewer for 35yr... And was regularly in ridiculously good shape.
What's more plausible a couple lb killed him within a couple years or the booze and drugs for 35?

Exactly. Can't help but notice that the article writer kept pushing the alcohol and drug angle (which could of course do the same damage or i tribute to it) but nary a peep about how fat GM had gotten and his over-eating.
