The system is not collapsing - there is a huge difference between America and the Soviet Union which did collapse.

Both countries have (had) massive problems, to be sure - the difference is in America you are allowed to talk about those problems, and in the Soviet Union, you were not allowed to talk about them.

In America, usually sooner or later problems are fixed, or the organization goes bankrupt, or is otherwise discontinued. If or when the award ceremonies become so dysfunctional they cannot keep an audience, they will then disappear.

Much like television and newspapers are on the ropes now - being replaced by alternative media. They are broken, alt media is great - the institution of "media" has never been stronger.

This is just nature taking it's course.
